Balanced Budget

Future generations have a right to be protected from debts accumulated by earlier generations. Therefore, a balanced budget is crucial for supporting and growing a healthy economy. A balanced budget sets parameters for government spending and reign in excess and wasteful spending. Victor believes in more accountability with regard to government spending and eliminating practices that cause waste.

Taxes

Victor supports the Republicans’ Tax Cuts and Jobs Act as well as simplifying the tax code to reduce tax burdens for Americans across the board. The corporate tax cut encourages real wage growth, thus facilitating growth and providing businesses with the competitive advantage that they need to compete in a global market. Victor also believes in redesigning the tax code so that all Americans pay their fair share and closing loopholes that have allowed for tax fraud and abuse in years past. Victor believes that through limited government spending, taxes can be kept at reasonable and affordable rates for individuals, small businesses, and corporations.

Foreign Policy

America’s strength is the result of our economic, military, and foreign relationships. While we should maintain a certain level of superiority, we must be hesitant to intervene in foreign affairs and do so only when substantial American interests are at stake. We should also limit foreign aid to countries that are willing to demonstrate a clear plan for economic and social improvement and are using said aid for the true benefit of their citizens. We must stand by our ally Israel in the middle east while still acting as an intermediary in the quest for peace in the Middle East.

Veterans

Victor believes that our Veterans, the men and women who have put their lives on the line for this great nation, deserve better. A major part of his platform is to craft legislation that supports the economic, physical, and emotional health of those who have served so bravely.

Despite learning invaluable skills in the armed forces, many veterans return home with little assistance in finding gainful employment and transitioning into civilian jobs. Victor will work with military groups and civilian employers to help veterans grow and flourish in their post-service careers.

Additionally, Victor believes in providing better healthcare and psychological services for those who have returned from battle. Veteran suicides occur at a rate of approximately one every 65 minutes- a rate that Victor and his team believe is unacceptable. Much of this has to do with PTSD coupled with the lack of immediate and adequate services through the Veterans Administration. The Veteran suicide rate is not only a national emergency, it is a national disgrace.

Veterans who have regular contact with VA health services have been shown to be less likely to commit suicide than those with little or no interactions.

Additionally, veterans often suffer from many other physical conditions and injuries as a result of their service. The current VA system is not adequately providing an acceptable level of care. â€‹

Victor will fight hard for our veterans and their families by increasing VA funding, resulting in an expansion of innovative prevention, intervention, and treatment services for our heroes who served our country.

Welfare

Victor has compassion for those who have fallen on hard times. He believes temporary aid should be rendered only when absolutely necessary. However, he believes in eliminating long-term welfare for able-bodied adults. He believes that replacing welfare with workfare is a dignified, sustainable, and long-term solution that will benefit working age, capable adults by providing them with the tools that they need to be self-reliant members of society.

Victor also believes in reducing corporate welfare as well.

First Amendment

Free speech is one of the major tenants upon which the United States was founded upon. Victor believes in protecting the first amendment of free speech and prohibiting government or other public officials from misusing their power to suppress dissenting viewpoints. However, threats or calls to violence should be met with swift punishment and criminal prosecution.

Second Amendment

The Second Amendment provides U.S. citizens with the right to bear arms. Victor believes law-abiding Americans should have the right to own firearms to protect themselves in the face of danger, to protect themselves from an abusive government, or to be used for hunting or other sport. However, it is crucial that guns do not fall into the wrong hands. Victor supports a background check, yet is opposed to a national registry of gun owners and the guns they own. He also supports allocating tax dollars to keeping schools safe through protective measures.

Immigration

Victor believes in streamlining the immigration process so that more merit-based legal immigrants can arrive and contribute to America’s robust economy, culture and future.

Border Control

Victor strongly believes border control and immigration must be dealt with as separate issues. While immigration reform is necessary, the border is not just a crossing point for legal immigrants looking for a better life but also for nefarious actors. A secure border wall is crucial in minimizing drug and human trafficking. However, Victor also believes that technology such as satellites and drone surveillance should be used as a modern-day solution to border safety.

Abortion

The spectre of an abortion is a painful and personal choice for many women. While Victor is staunchly pro-life in his personal beliefs, he believes abortion should be readily available in extreme cases, such as to save the life of the mother. He also believes in creating financial incentive programs for women who give their children up for adoption as an alternative to abortion. He believes that schools, in conjunction with the parents, should teach comprehensive sex education, including abstinence.

Social Security

As your Congressman, Victor believes it is crucial we allow our nation’s seniors to retain their full Social Security benefits- benefits acquired after a lifetime of hard work and many years paying into the Social Security system.

Although Social Security was never designed to be a stand alone, but a supplemental retirement plan, many of our nation's seniors today rely one-hundred-per-cent on the meager benefits that they are receiving. Meanwhile, the government has been borrowing from Peter to pay Paul for far too long- borrowing money that essentially belongs to these seniors who paid into the system and using it to pay our nation's other debts, thus denying cost of living increases and outright reductions in benefits. This is reprehensible and must stop immediately.

Victor will work with all members of Congress to ensure that every senior who is eligible to receive Social Security benefits continues to receive their full benefits and has the peace of mind to know that their benefits, especially Medicare, are being protected.

Victor believes we must begin to implement changes now in order to ensure a healthy Social Security system for the long term. One of these changes would be to cut the operational cost associated with administering the Social Security system. The system is bloated and fraught with wasted spending. Every dollar saved from these cuts is another dollar of benefits for our deserving seniors.
